The Need
This global investment management firm wanted to use the tool beyond its out of the box capabilities. This was to remove clicks and save users time during the role assignment process. We was able to provide Aprimo consulting and identified ways to utilize the Aprimo APIs to create the needed functionality but without the hefty price tag that used to come with customizations.
The Challenge
Functionality Missing
Users wanted to be able to select task assignees for their workflows without leaving the task screen, a piece of functionality that was not available at the time; it did not exist.
Long Click Stream
Marketers and others using the tool had to click through multiple screens, links and lists to enable a selection. The process was creating confusion and frustrating.
Available Budget
Expensive customizations were off the table as budget was not allocated for this work. We were challenged to find a solution that did not include butchering the out the box product.
In the current process, users of the tool were finding it hard to navigate through all of the various elements of the out of the box product. It wasn't a product issue, but a feature that wasn't available. We had to be creative on how to approach this challenge.

Reduced Clicks
We removed a number of pages for the process and this a number of clicks. From five page views down to one and 15 clicks down to two.
Happier Users
Users were happier and responded positively to the changes. Previous detractors of the tool became champions of it overnight.
We partnered with the Aprimo team and came up with solutions that made use of the applications in built APIs. We found that by using these APIs to send information out of, and then back into the tool allowed us to create the desired functionality without the need to implement costly customizations.
